Setting up your own web/mail presence on the Net

This documentation is to give the reader an understanding of setting up a 'presence' on the Internet and although is directed towards Cable and ADSL it is not limited to either. The following is not intended to be a technical manual on setting up a presence or advise on using any particular service although reference is made to some services. They are used as examples only and merely as a starting point on where to go to setup these services. Most services provide well documented help in setting up these services. You are encouraged to research these and other similar services available to meet your needs and possibly finances. Some descriptions may not be technically correct but serve as a simplistic overview.

There are a number of sites that provide specific setup information for web presence however it is beyond the scope of this documentation. One such site dealing with Linux is www.netintegrity.com.au There are many more.

If you require help on setting up any of the discussed services and live in the Perth area I am available to help and consult. For those beyond Perth, limited email support can be provided. Please see the about page from the main menu for contact information.
